Sisters for Education in Honduras
World Accord is excited to announce a public relations campaign for World Accord undertaken by a pair of local sisters – Adele and Chrissy Newton. Adele as you may know is a very popular radio personality with CHYM 96.7 in Kitchener-Waterloo and Chrissy is the founder of VOCAB Communications in Toronto. While the sisters have individually volunteered on projects, this will mark the first time the sisters have collaborated on a project to help make the world a better place for many in need. The focus of their efforts? Improving the lives of children in Honduras through helping with the construction of schools and supporting this aspect of the work of World Accord.
One of the biggest barrier’s preventing people living in poverty from breaking out of the cycle which perpetuates their situation is a lack of education. Education is key if people are ever to break out of poverty and chase their potential as individuals and members of a thriving community. Adele and Chrissy will be participating in a trip to build a school in a rural community on Honduras from Feb 3 – 17, 2018. If you would like to join the sisters, or go on the January or March trip, check out World Accord’s Construction Expedition pages for more information.
If you would like to contribute to the cost of materials for constructing a school please call the World Accord office at 1-800-525-3545 or visit the Sisters for Education in Honduras campaign to make a donation online.
