World Accord Joins the Movement for Community-Led Development

By Isabelle Hachette – Program Coordinator

World Accord is the newest member of the Movement for Community-Led Development (MCLD)[1]. A coalition of seventy-four organizations of all sizes implementing projects worldwide through local partners.

The MCLD aligns with our mission and values as it works to bring civil society and governments into an effective partnership to achieve the following goals:

  1. Voice and Agency for Women, Youth, and All Marginalized Groups
  2. Adequate Community Finance.
  3. Good Local Governance.
  4. Quality Public Services.
  5. Resilience.

We are proud to have joined this Movement as all its members are “organizations committed to the success of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and call for enhancing the power and capacity of communities to take charge of their own development” (MCLD flyer). Finally, this new partnership will enable us to not only be fully engaged in knowledge-sharing but also open opportunities for joint-implementation initiatives.
